County-Wide Neighborhood Workshops Recap

County-Wide Neighborhood Workshops Recap

Thursday, 21 January 2010 & Wednesday, 3 February 2010

On January 21st and February 3rd the 2020 Vision Plan Project Team hosted four neighborhood workshops in the north, south, east, and west areas of Mecklenburg County.  During these four meetings, nearly 100 citizens identified issues and contributed ideas related to the growth and development of Center City Charlotte.  Questions posed to the group addressed:

1. What they liked most about their Center City?
2. What can be done over the next 10 years to make Center City a better place to live, work, and visit? and
3. What things from downtowns you’ve visited any where in the world should be considered for Charlotte?

Ideas and issues, both big and small, were discussed that have impacts on future projects, policies, and programs.  The whole community was encouraged to continue to provide feedback about the 2020 Vision Plan at the next Community Workshop on March 31st.

A special thanks to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library for making these workshops possible!
