In 1999, the people of Charlotte came together to create the last plan for the Center City. The 2010 Plan set the course for ten years of growth and development. Several of the key planning goals and accomplishments are summarized below.

  • 150% increase in property tax revenue
 - $69 Million in 2000 to $174 Million in 2012 (projected)
  • 96 individual projects
  • 7,500 housing units
  • 6.6 MM SF office space (56% increase)
  • 31,000 new employees
  • 140% increase in property tax value
- $5.8 Billion in 2000 to $13.9 Billion in 2012
  • Increased housing
  • Little Sugar Creek Greenway
  • Stonewall / Charlottetowne Ave
  • Plans for three parks including Education Quad in First Ward
